Suspensions and chandeliers: bring color into your home!
Did you know that chandeliers and suspensions are among the most common fixtures in Dutch and Belgian neighbors? These countries are known for their culinary specialties, their landscapes but a little less for their tastes in terms of design, and yet. They are often the first to create beautiful lamps!
No wonder, because the chandeliers and suspensions are real creators of the atmosphere. The chandeliers bring color and highlight your interior! The suspensions, meanwhile, bring warmth and lightness to the room.
In this article, we will evoke the colorful, multi-faceted world of chandeliers and suspensions.
It's copper color warms your interior
In recent years, copper has been a true trend color. But in 2019, too, copper remains a rich and warm color, suitable for various interior styles. In the frame, for example, a rustic, vintage or botanical interior design.
Among the eye-catching ones are UMAGE's Cava Dine suspension with its whole pattern (photo 1) and Louis Paulsen’s PH Artichoke (photo 2). Louis Paulson and UMAGE (formerly Vita Copenhagen) are both brands of designer lamps from Denmark.
The PH Artichoke takes its name from the plant, the artichoke, and is an architectural masterpiece by Danish designer Paul Henningsen (PH). These chandeliers are, in addition, also available in other colors.
These chandeliers make the difference
Colorful suspensions or several chandeliers (combined) of different colors create an atmosphere in the brewery. Colorful suspensions can make the difference in rooms with neutral colors (black, white and gray). A good balance between colors is a guarantee of a soothing interior.
Be careful though with the color. In spaces where prominent colors predominate, for example on a bright red wall, it may be better to hang a white or black chandelier.
White is always trendy!
White lighting dresses all the interiors. White (which is not officially a color) easily combines with all other colors. It is, therefore, easier to take with you during a move or just hang it when you change the rest of your home. White will also never pass (totally) mode. You may find the white a little too boring or too cold (in the long run), so you can always associate this coldness with colorful accessories.
The white can be boring, the shape of these four white design suspensions is not, however, not at all. The white grants, moreover, more space to the design of a lamp. As the color jumps less in the eyes, the eye is probably more receptive to form.
Black chandeliers are timeless
Black (which is not officially a color) has almost the same properties as white. Black chandeliers will not change in color, never in fashion and easily combine with other colors. A black chandelier darkens the interior, unlike a white chandelier.
Black chandeliers are more and more widespread in recent years. Especially the trend "black and gold" which is very marked, as in photo 4 below. The exterior of the chandelier is black but the interior of the lamp post is covered with a gold leaf. Many Asian / Moroccan chandeliers are also black, in order to play at best the game of lighting and lighting effects.
